  • Reiki works with the body’s biofield - an energetic field that surrounds and flows through us, connecting us to the universal life force that gives life to all living things. It is not massage, it’s a fully clothed treatment - in my sessions, it's predominantly a hand hands-off treatment.

    Reiki is not mystical or "new age" - it is an ancient Japanese healing art, once practiced by the samurai to cultivate balance and inner strength. It was lost through various rulers and rediscovered in the early 1900s by Mikao Usui, a man rooted in both tradition and deep spiritual practice. His skills have been passed down from Master to Student in various levels of ascending attunements making the healings 50 times more powerful than regular energy healing.

    Think of it like your phone accessing data or your home drawing power - energy moves through unseen channels. Just because we can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Reiki connects to a similar current: an open network of frequencies that science is only beginning to understand.

    Kirlian photography gives us a glimpse of this field, showing the subtle energy that surrounds the body. While we see only a fraction of the spectrum - about 0.003% - Reiki taps into the vast, unseen 99.997% where energy and information are constantly in motion.

    Reiki doesn’t force or fix. It flows. It listens. It gently restores alignment - bringing balance to body, mind, and spirit through the quiet intelligence of energy.

  • Quantum entanglement, a concept developed in quantum physics by Einstein and Max Plank, shows us that particles can be connected, no matter the distance. Remote Distant Reiki works in much the same way - it flows through this interconnected web of existence. A practitioner, with focused intention, can send healing energy across time and space to heal past wounds, balance energy in the present, and even shape future outcomes.

    Reiki is a bridge between all aspects of time - past, present, and future - allowing energy to heal and realign wherever you are on your journey wherever you are in the world.

  • This is a specially developed program of treatments for chronic or terminal illness. This 21 day treatment includes an hour in-person or remote distant healing session and 20 days of remote distant healing sessions. The sessions aim to minimise symptoms and improve quality of life by improving sleep patterns and to reduce pain & nausea. Enquire about this Program for a friend or loved one.

  • There are very few situations where Reiki is not recommended - but there are two important exceptions, in both these instances it’s because Reiki works too well! Reiki should not be given immediately after someone has lost a limb or experienced a major physical trauma, like a severe accident or broken bones. Why? Because Reiki activates the body’s natural healing response so effectively and quickly that it can actually begin the repair process before medical intervention takes place. In the case of a lost limb, this rapid healing can complicate surgical efforts to reattach nerves and blood vessels. With broken bones, the body may begin fusing them before they’ve been properly aligned.

    That said, once medical care has been received and the body is stabilized, Reiki can be a powerful ally in the healing journey - often accelerating recovery by many times over. It supports the body’s natural rhythm, promoting faster regeneration and deep energetic alignment.

  • Many patients and healthcare providers report benefits from its use, especially in holistic or integrative medicine contexts. There are many studies that have have shown that Reiki can help reduce stress, anxiety and pain.

    Since Reiki is non-invasive and doesn’t involve medication, it’s safe to use alongside conventional treatments. Many nurse and doctors are now using Reiki in pre- and post-operative care, for oncology support and chronic illness treatment.

  • Your body will guide the treatments and your healing to what it needs most. You can set the intention before the treatment or you can let go the mind and let the Reiki flow to where it’s needed most.

    Reiki can treat anything from: Tension. Anxiety. Trauma - Past & Present. Chronic Health Issues. Thyroid Imbalances. Oncology Support. Releasing Trapped Emotions - Past & Present. Preparing the body for surgery. Psycho-spiritual imbalances. Speed up healing after breaks and strains. Balancing organs. Releasing muscle tension. Preparing you for future events. Wellness diagnostics. Dietary diagnostics. And everything in-between, it balances mind, body, emotions & spirit.

  • Sometimes you feel tired or fatigued after a Reiki session, sometimes referred to as a "Reiki hangover," is common and normal, indicating your body is processing old stagnant energy and recalibrating, releasing tension and beginning to heal, so it's best to rest, hydrate and listen to your body as it adjusts. This temporary tiredness signals deep relaxation and detoxification, making space for long-term benefits like improved energy and calm. 

    You may also feel emotionally sensitive as emotions surface and release. Allow yourself to nap, rest, relax and don't rush back into strenuous activity. Drink plenty of water to help your body flush out toxins. Eat light, simple, healthy foods.

    Avoid heavy commitments and be patient with yourself, the fatigue will give way over a few weeks to clarity, calm and increased energy. It’s a sign the Reiki is working deeply, not a negative reaction, so embrace the rest. 

  • Reiki isn’t a religion or a belief system - it’s a gentle, healing practice that helps the body relax, rebalance, and restore. It doesn’t require you to change your faith or adopt new ideas. People from many spiritual paths find that Reiki complements their beliefs without conflicting with them.

    Throughout history, spiritual figures like Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, Moses, Krishna, Guru Nanak, St. Francis of Assisi, Mother Teresa and others embodied healing in different ways - through touch, prayer, compassion, or presence. While their traditions differ, their care for the suffering was rooted in love and service. Reiki moves in that same spirit.

    It’s not about doctrine or dogma. It’s about stillness, presence, and allowing space for peace to move through. Whether you call that peace God, Spirit, Source, Ki, Chi, Prana or simply life - it doesn’t matter. Reiki meets you where you are, and honors what you already believe.

  • Kala in Hawaiian means "there are no limits," symbolizing the boundless nature of our existence. It teaches that the boundaries we perceive are often self-imposed, encouraging us to let go of fears and doubts and embrace the infinite potential within us. Just as the ocean does not stop at the shore but extends beyond the horizon, Kala reminds us of our interconnectedness with the universe and how our thoughts and actions influence it, while it in turn influences us. This principle supports practitioners and clients in releasing physical and emotional tension, facilitating deeper relaxation and transformative growth. In yoga, Kala also represents the concept of time, highlighting the ongoing journey of learning and personal development, emphasizing patience and persistence as essential to mastery.
